Sewer Scope Inspections
Sewer repairs can be costly. The average cost of repair runs $3,000 to $5,000. A full replacement of sewer lateral runs between $5,000 to $15,000. Getting a sewer scope before purchasing your home can possibly help save you time, money, and headaches in the future.
Our RHI inspector can show you the signs that indicate a sewer scope inspection would be valuable. If there is water backed up in the home or crawl space, the home was built more than 40 years ago, or has cast iron pipes or clay tile, and if large trees in the yard or extra green or lush patches of grass in the yard are visible, it would be wise to add this service to your home inspection.
Your inspector will scope the lateral line by way of the sewer clean out or the vent stack on the roof. He will then record a video of the camera moving through the line. Your inspector will also include any photos of findings in the sewer scope report. Our inspector can also use the scope to simply locate the lateral and/or the septic tank.
