Roof Inspections
The roof is one of the first major defenses in protecting your home from the elements. Hail, high winds, and other weather can take a toll. Proper ventilation and installation are also key in the longevity of a roof. Repairs can be time-consuming and costly.
The purpose of a roof inspection is to locate any issues and gauge the remaining life of the roof. Sometimes roofs are not installed properly with too many layers of shingles, improperly flashed, or have non-sealed nail fasteners. Deteriorating chimneys and vent boots can also be a cause for concern. All these issues can lead to water damage inside a house.
RHI will check the roof for any possible damage. If it is safe to walk, your inspector will usually access the roof by ladder. If the roof is unsafe, your inspector will look to make sure there is not any major damage or assess the roof from accessible points including windows and the roof edge from the ladder. He will also check to see if you have any missing or damaged shingles, the flashing around the chimney, and the overall life of the roof. Chimney, skylights, roof venting, vent boots, gutters, and downspouts will all be inspected.
